Yes but no. The original was lightning in a bottle. Their best trajectory wouldn’t be as good as the original. I’d much rather taika give the young Frankenstein treatment to another property. Vanhelsing?
Hopefully it’ll be comparable to What We Do In The Shadows. No single episode of the series was as great as the original film, but the advantages of building out your characters and gags over a number of seasons elevated it and made it a worthwhile expansion.
I think WWDITS, both the movie and show, are equally amazing
The thing with the TV show is that it didn’t rehash the movie. Or honestly even really tie to it. Outside of nick and iago making an appearance. It was it’s own dynamic and it was great. Taika may be able to squeeze something out of a prequel type situation. But honestly I’d rather them just give him a mad scientist archetype, tired of living in the shadow of those like Frankenstein. And his misadventures.
Is this confirmed to be a prequel? I assumed it was a sequel, following Frederick’s son. A prequel certainly sounds like more of a challenge.
There are better actors for this than Zach Gallowficus.
